Reducing bird-window collisions is one key strategy to help make communities more bird friendly. In 2015 I auditioned and was selected to give a TEDx talk on Bird-friendly Design.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC ONLINE - FEATURING UCLA COLLABORATION

December 2016

UCLA highlighted the ongoing collaboration between my bird-window collision research at Audubon and scientists on their feather genome project. The University's article was picked up by National Geographic.

UMN BELL MUSEUM - BIRD-FRIENDLY DESIGN

April 2017

An example of a project I consulted on to help ensure the design didn't pose a risk to birds from window collisions. The design aspect was newsworthy due to local interest in birds and bird-friendly design and the fact that the architects (Perkins & Will) and the University took the issue of collisions so seriously in the design phase.
